Bryan-College Station is actually two distinct cities. They are in Brazos County. They are about 90 miles northwest of Houston and they are in the Greater Houston Area. The area's economic and social life is centered on the main campus of Texas A&M University in College Station; thus, the area is popularly known as "Aggieland" in reference to the Aggies nickname for the university's sports teams and students.

The area has a public transportation system, and the university also provides transit services. Certain parts of the city are quite walkable, and biking is a common means of transportation, especially around the university.

SCHOOLS

 

 Students attend schools in either Bryan ISD or the College Station ISD. Two College Station ISD Elementary Schools are on ALEX Labs' list of the the Best in Texas Elementary Schools™: Forest Ridge and Rock Prairie. Please contact the school districts for enrollment eligibility. There are many Bryan-College Station private schools.
