As of the 2020 census, Williamson County had a population of approximately 645,822 people, making it the 12th most populous county in Texas. The county covers an area of 1,134 square miles (2,938 square kilometers) and is known for its rolling hills, rivers, and parks.



Williamson County has a diversified economy with major industries including healthcare, technology, manufacturing, and retail. Major employers in the area include Dell Technologies, Baylor Scott & White Health, and St. David's HealthCare.



The county is home to several higher education institutions, including Southwestern University, Texas State University, and Austin Community College. It also has a vibrant cultural scene with a variety of museums, galleries, and performing arts venues. In terms of recreation, Williamson County offers numerous opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, and camping. Some of the popular parks in the county include Brushy Creek Regional Trail, Cedar Park Sculpture Garden, and Inner Space Caverns.
