ALEX Labs just completed research and analysis of Biz Journal’s Report that included Dallas County migration.
Many Texans including realtors believe most new residents are coming from out-of-state with the majority fleeing from San Francisco. Key findings about new residents in Dallas County: 23% are from Tarrant County (Fort Worth area), 18% are from out-of-state, 5.4% are from California with 1.4% coming from the Bay Area and 4.0% coming from Southern California.

DATA
Biz Journal’s Report was based on an analysis of tax returns. By County, it identified “…in-migration…patterns by county…” for the 2020 and 2021 tax years.
“…(The) data includes the top sources (counties) of in-migration and out-migration for each county (as long as the migration involved at least 20 filers)…”
