ATTOM’s 2024 analysis of US data highlights the significance of the first half of the year as the prime selling season for homeowners. May Reigns as Prime Selling Season ATTOM’s analysis reveals that May, along with February and April, offers the highest seller premiums, making it the ideal time to list a property. The data, derived from over 59 million single-family home and condo sales spanning from 2011 to 2023, underscores the importance of timing in maximizing seller profits. Best Months to Sell The analysis identifies the months with the greatest seller premiums, showcasing the following rankings: May (13.1 percent)February (12.8 percent)April (12.5 percent)June (12.4 percent)March (12.2 percent) Best Days to Sell Delving deeper, ATTOM unveils the top 20 days for selling a home, predominantly clustered in May, February, March, and June. Notable days include May 27, February 25, and February 17, each offering significant seller premiums ranging from 15.8 to 16.2 percent. Methodology ATTOM’s analysis spans thirteen years (2011 to 2023) of US data and includes days with at least 11,000 single-family home and condo sales. By comparing median sales prices with automated valuation model (AVM) estimates, ATTOM determines seller premiums or discounts, excluding only Jan. 1, July 4, and Dec. 25 from the dataset.
